Prophecy is a Server that hosts different non profit organizations.
As Prophecy is not asking any money for those services and as Prophecy is not belonging to any company all the costs are paid by myself.
The actual server is a dual Pentium II 450MHz with 512Mbytes of RAM and five SCSI U160 9Gbytes disk in a RAID configuration. The system is server grade hardware with double power supply and an UPS.
At the time the server was bought (1999) it costs 4000$ and only 1000$ where sponsored the rest beeing paid by myself.
Now new disks and a new UPS are required. As the disk system is based on U160 hard drives new disk will cost us more than 1800$. And the UPS may range between 500$ and 1000$. This is why we would like YOU to help us out.
As we do not request huge amount and as Prophecy is not a company the problem is to gather those small amounts of money from a lot of people in different countries around the world. This is why we have built a network of trusted people where you may send your contribution.
After having send a check or made a bank transfer you should send me an e-mail with the amount sent. I will add the amount to the Sponsor List. You may ask not to be named or use a nickname if you don't want to be recognized.

A PayPal account has been opened but other the transfer methods are prefered. It will take some time before the PayPal account may accept money.
In case none of the above cases may be used. Or sending the money would cost more than what you want to send you may send the money in an envelope to my home address. The problem is that this is not a good way and does not ensure something arrives.
